Getting Started with Stockisto

What you'll accomplish

  • Start your 14-day free trial
  • Complete the onboarding checklist
  • Publish your retailer locator to your website

Step 1: Start your trial

Navigate to stockisto.com → Start Free Trial → enter your email address and company name → check your email for a magic link.

Magic link email

Check your spam folder if you don't see the email within 2 minutes. The link expires after 24 hours — if it expires, request a new one from the login page.

Step 2: Complete the onboarding wizard

After signing in for the first time you'll see the 6-step onboarding checklist. Each step is optional, but completing all 6 unlocks the full dashboard experience and gives your locator the best possible first impression.

Step 2.1: Brand settings

Upload your logo (PNG or SVG, recommended 400×400px) and choose your brand color. The color picker extracts the dominant color from your logo automatically — you can also set it manually.

Step 2.2: Import your retailers

You can import retailers in two ways:

  • CSV/XLSX import — download the template, fill in your retailer data, and upload it. See the Data Import guide for field definitions and common errors.
  • Web scrape — provide a URL to your existing dealer page and Stockisto will extract retailer data for your review. You'll review and approve each row before it's imported.

Start with a few retailers

Even 5–10 retailers is enough to see the locator working. You can import more later at any time.

Step 2.3: Configure locator appearance

Set the map center (default is your company's city), enable or disable the list view, and choose which filters to show to consumers (stock status, showroom, service tags).

Step 2.4: Preview your locator

The live preview shows exactly how your locator will look on your website. Resize the browser window to check the mobile layout — most consumers will be on mobile.

Step 2.5: Install on your website

Add the Stockisto embed snippet to your website. The fastest method is via Google Tag Manager — see the GTM Install guide for step-by-step instructions.

Step 2.6: Verify installation

After installing, click Check Installation in the dashboard. Stockisto will verify that the snippet is loading correctly on your domain.

DNS propagation

If you're using a custom domain (e.g. locator.yourbrand.com), it may take up to 24 hours for DNS to propagate after setup. The verification check may fail during this window — try again after 24 hours.

Step 3: Publish your locator

Once at least one retailer is imported and your brand settings are saved, click Publish in the dashboard. Your locator is now live at your Stockisto URL (yourbrand.stockisto.com).

Share with your team

Copy the locator URL and share it internally before embedding on your website — a great way to get early feedback from colleagues.
